North Point Lighthouse
Milwaukee , Wisconsin
Since
1855, the North Point Light Station consists of a 74-foot lighthouse
tower and 2 1/2 story Keeper’s Quarters. It is an integral
part of Lake Park and is located on a two-acre semi-wooded parcel
in the heart of Lake Park, nestled between two ravines extending
to Lake Michigan.
Originally,
in 1888, a cast iron lighthouse was built, but this tower was
not tall enough and was placed on top of a steel structure in
1912 raising its height to 74 feet (23 m) and light focal plane
to 154 feet (47 m)
The
magnet is approx. 3.4" tall by 2.3" wide, and the
photograph is printed on high quality photographic paper. It
has a full magnetic back.
